I like floppy hat, a lot, a lot. I went to all the American Apparel in Boston trying to find the a floppy hat, but then none of the stores had what I wanted. So I ended up buying the hat for $55 at the famous hatmakers The Goorins Brothers. They are the best hat I have ever purchased. So worth the price. 

Megumi and I went on a shopping spree at (don't laugh) Savers the day before yesterday, and I found this briefcase that looked so perfect with my outfit. But it was $13 so I decided not to buy it. Come on, who spend more than $7 for 1 item in Savers is (in my opinion) a little too extravagant. Haha, or maybe I am just a super cheap person. 

I know my fingers are really short, haha, and I totally do not look like the piano-player, song-writer/singer type, but I kinda am. I am not very good, but I can play songs that I like, and for me that's quite enough.

I lost my iPod in May, and I feel sometimes irritated without it. Just like a part of me is missing, you know what I mean. I am planning to buy the classic 160G one, which is the same one I lost. Hopefully I make enough money to buy it soon.

Know Thyself

I think the secret to happiness is to know yourself. The better you know yourself, there are much lesser things that can upset you. I have learned to be happy for a while. Always try my best to understand myself and at the same time, try to understand other people. 

I went to have tea the other day with Megumi and Eiji, my two Japanese seniors, they are a such pleasant beings, spending time with them always make me happy. It's because they are people who know themselves really well, know what they want, what they don't want, really mature people. And I had pomegranate tea and contemplate on life.

I am really happy my hair is growing really fast. But at the same time, they appear to be pretty damaged. Hmm...

Business Casual

It's that time of the year when the freshies come in and have orientation. This new school year seems to be interesting already. I hope to meet a lot of new interesting people who I can really learn from. The photos are taken at Dolan Field - our college's athletic center. Wide space and lots of light. Wonderful location for pictures. From there you can also see the pink sunset sky.

I just love black and white editions of the pictures. So much more stand out when you turn a photo black&white. 

I never wear shorts to work. I think it's too much. I never wear casual wear to work either. Even though I play a really small part in my office (office assistant), I basically do nothing substantial, I don't make big decisions that affects the pace of business in my workplace, but I believe in representing myself well. I think you should always dress as well as you can. I want people to perceive me at my best. Leggings, jeans, shorts are not on my work-clothes list. I changed into these shorts only for the photoshoot. 

The weather was so nice. I hope it stays like this for a while.

Also I have been trying to quit smoking. It's hard. But the lack of money has actually been helping the process of quitting, and also Megumi really encourages me (sometimes she uses the method of blackmailing to encourage me too, like "I will release those ugly pictures of you if you smoke cigarettes", haha). I am really grateful to have friends who believe in the better me.

But then I just end up smoking too much hookah, which usually makes me sleepy.
